Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple methods to master and removes the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also explored Italy's cuisine and culture, and the surrounding landscape. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food in her early years. After obtaining an English and Communication degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was an excellent place to study. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression on her culinary point of view. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. She speaks about her cooking passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world, as she regularly is in the United States for the roles of speakers and mentors. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she often says that she feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most for life with people.
